Full Time Job
In this role with our Amazon Alternative team, you will handle legal aspects of non-scripted television development, production and distribution across all genres of programming, including structuring, drafting and negotiating a wide range of production services agreements, license agreements, format agreements and distribution agreements. You will be responsible for all legal matters during the course of development and production, including evaluating chain of title, reviewing and drafting casting notices, drafting and reviewing talent agreements and other production legal forms such as music agreements, broadcast review of content for issues such as standards and practices and clearances, advising on labor and guild issues, drafting product placement and sponsorship agreements. You will also analyze and interpret contracts and provide thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues in a wide range of legal areas, including intellectual property, digital media and regulatory compliance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 4 years of legal experience (with at least three years at a law firm) as a transactional attorney
• Experience and success in non-scripted television development and production
• Juris Doctor and membership in good standing in at least one state bar is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in non-scripted television development and production at a network/studio
• A mix of law firm and in-house experience
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
• Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical and computer skills
• Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor
