Assistant Video Editor, Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video Global Marketing is looking for an Assistant Video Editor to join our AV Content Studio as we embrace a future where our creative storytelling contributes to our goal of becoming the world's most beloved video streaming company. In this role, you will work closely with our internal editorial team, and interface with the Creative Directors within our Creative Studio team, our AV Post Production team, cross-functional teams and creative operations managers to create dynamic and engaging video content across a variety of executions.
Your responsibilities as an Assistant Video Editor are vast and varied, across theatrical movie and series trailers, short form content for social channels, broadcast and online spots, internal video content, brand-specific spots and sizzle reels. You provide a critical support role in the editorial process, performing many tasks associated with setting up the initial editorial project, ingesting shoot, episodic series and movie footage, and drive management. During the editorial process you log footage, rough out initial cuts, source sound effects and music cues, compress and post files for approval. For delivery, you prepare cuts for color correction and audio mixing, re-link high resolution and color corrected footage, prepare assets for final delivery and upload and download files through ftp's and client portals. You also play an important role in quality control on client deliveries. You have a proven ability to work closely with creative directors, AV producers and marketing executives to ensure the creative vision is achieved. Above all, you are a team player with a calm demeanor to deal with unexpected, last-second requests and projects.

• Maintain edit bay for optimal editing workflow
• Maintain and organize backups of all current and ongoing projects
• Create clips from archived content for alternative lengths and distribution
• Properly QC for all formats
• Prioritize projects from various teams in a timely manner
• Transcode file-based raw camera files for ingestion into the edit project
• Create clips from archived content for alternative lengths and distribution
• Prep footage for design and graphics
• Cut in final GFX, VFX and audio for review and delivery
• Create multiple versions of assets for delivery per client requests
• Prep locked cuts and post for external finishing and localization vendors
• Export AAF files for audio mixes
• Export final delivery files per client specs
• Prepare textless submasters
• Perform quality control checks in all formats on delivery of finished assets to ensure they conform highest industry technical standards
• Ability to prioritize projects from various teams in a timely manner
• Maintain and organize backups of all current and ongoing projects as well as clean-up and organize projects before archiving
• Oversee the delivery/upload of final files through FTPs and client portals
• Experience with working within Digital Asset Management Systems, and archival processes.
This position reports to the senior manager of the AV Content Studio and is a member of the editorial team.
This is not a work-from-home position. Due to the nature of this job, candidates must be able to work full-time in the Amazon offices in Culver City.
Qualifications
• 1 years of creative services experience
• Understanding of the workflow within a marketing, production, or creative department or company
• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
• 3 years experience at an in-house agency or external creative agency
• 3 years working in theatrical and/or broadcast television/streaming spaces
• Understanding with Adobe Premiere, Avid, After Effects, Sapphire effects, EDL Manager, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
• Experience with basic sound mixing and color correction on video projects, specifically ProTools and DaVinci Resolve
• Understanding of aspect ratios, frame rates, conversions, & codecs
• Experience with editorial related systems, effects plug-ins, digital media routing and storage, audio boards and mixing, decks, scopes, monitors and related editorial equipment
