The Amazon Studios team is shaping the future of digital video entertainment. The Amazon Studios finance team is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to drive financial planning & analysis projects that span its worldwide content business. This position requires the ability to work cross-functionally and develop new solutions as the business continues to grow. The right individual will have exceptional finance skills, strong understanding of Finance & Accounting principles, solid analytical skills, firm business judgment capable of driving an organization to the right results, and strong business partnership.
He or she will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment and have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of analyses. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and prioritize.
The team needs a self-starter, who is able to work autonomously and drive cross-functional projects involving teams such as FP&A, Content Production & Operations, Marketing, Research/Analytics, Accounting, and Business Development. The candidate will need to able to collaborate with business partners both domestically as well as abroad and must display strong initiative for anticipating and meeting the business demands of senior-level executives.
This position will be based in Santa Monica, CA.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with Digital Video finance and accounting team members across the globe to construct and implement improvements relating to the financial forecasting/planning/reporting process.
- Work on monthly FP&A duties including forecasts, month-end close, annual budgets
- Working closely with business and finance partners to support and influence worldwide content investment decisions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering or similar discipline with analytical bias and a minimum 5 years of finance experience, OR master's degree and 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA or Masters in a quantitative field
Prior experience in tech, public accounting, or investment banking is preferred
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
Background in SQL and other query writing capabilities
Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
