Amazon is expanding the way we think about content and moving towards unscripted television series. We are seeking an experienced Production Executive to aid in the management of our unscripted content creation.
The Production Executive will assist the Head of Unscripted Production by managing third party production partners in all areas of production management including: budget planning and cost control, production and post production design and implementation while ensuring an efficient and successful project delivery to Amazon Alternative. The successful candidate will possess the ability to complete high volumes of complex tasks and projects quickly with little to no guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround; and efficiently and creatively solve difficult or complex problems that affect people within the business.
The candidate will also have great attention to detail and organizational skills, as well as the ability to switch gears at a moment's notice. A high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with senior professionals inside and outside the company is key.
Responsibilities
• Overseeing unscripted projects in development and production
• Meets with show producers, production managers and creative executives in budget and production meetings
• Works with internal departments and production companies on production safety, security, insurance, child labor, immigration, visa, travel, and tax issues
• Is on-set when necessary to evaluate work-flow, budgets and potential problems both domestically and abroad (as needed)
• Analyzes budgets and cost reports
• Works with post-production to insure delivery of all required assets
• Coordination with other internal departments such as creative, marketing, PR, business affairs, legal, finance, and tax, etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications
• 7 years working on unscripted projects
• 5 years of experience as a producer/production manager/line producer/network manager in unscripted television
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• High level of competency with budgeting, scheduling, and cost reporting experience
• On-set problem solving ability
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong knowledge and experience in all forms of unscripted television (e.g., competition, travel, docu-follow, shiny floor, lifestyle) across all budget levels
• Experience with above-the-line and below-the-line unions and guilds
• Working knowledge of location specific production guidelines and procedures (including policies re: security, safety, insurance , etc.)
• Wide array of industry contacts in all areas of staffing needs
• Experience with asset delivery and with a variety of digital media and post production workflows
• Strong knowledge of available camera acquisition and post production formats/technologies/workflows for HD/UHD productions
• High attention to detail with extensive budget creation and analysis experience
• Detailed planning, time management, and organizational skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Positive can-do attitude with strong initiative and follow through
• Great judgment and common sense
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
• Creative problem-solver
• High levels of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
• Strong knowledge of producers, production companies, agents, and other industry players
