SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN
Allied Integrated Marketing offers a unique social media internship position in our Field Marketing division. The Social Media Intern will support the social media and marketing teams by assisting with coordinating, creating and posting content to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Interns have the opportunity to see how social media marketing campaigns are developed and executed, and will learn about working in an agency environment with a focus on entertainment clients.
The Social Media Intern Will:
• Participate in brainstorming alongside Allied's social media and marketing teams to create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter;
• Participate in constructing content calendars on a weekly and monthly basis;
• Contribute to content production including copywriting and photography;
• Track analytics and performance;
• Monitor and respond to comments from community members;
• Maintain and build internal database of locally-based influencers;
• Learn how to develop a pitch for influencers, and have a chance to use those skills to coordinate partnerships promoting client projects;
• Gain event management experience by attending and assisting Allied staff at evening screenings or events assisting with social media coverage;
• Gain experience with research tools, learning how to effectively identify target audiences for campaign messaging;
• Participate in brainstorming and learn how to increase followers on social media platforms.
At the conclusion of the internship term, interns will submit one portfolio piece, prepared under the supervision of Allied staff. The subject can be whatever the intern chooses, but it should showcase what was learned over the course of the internship. Interns are encouraged to approach every project with an eye towards resume building and professional development.
Qualifications:
• Proficient in and passionate about social media, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram;
• Must be at least 18 years of age upon internship start date;
• Must be a legal U.S. resident;
• Must commit to at least 14 hours a week (Monday through Friday) for a full school term (quarter/semester);
• Must be enrolled as a full time student in a college or graduate school program;
• Must receive academic credit for internship;
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Experience with graphic design a plus;
• Genuine interest in learning about brand building and digital storytelling;
• Ability to stay on top of digital/social trends;
• Not afraid to speak up, providing recommendations/suggestions when needed;
• Passionate about social media and emerging platforms;
• Interns will be using their own cellular device
This is an unpaid internship position. You will not be compensated in any fashion. You will not receive wages, health insurance benefits, retirement benefits, or company property in exchange for your participation.
Allied requires interns to obtain college course credit for their internship and will support their efforts to do so. Intern is responsible for satisfying any requirements your school may have to obtain course credit.
