The Agency for the Performing Arts (''APA''), one of the largest diversified talent agencies, seeks an experienced candidate to lead the day to day activities for APA's Agent Training Program (ATP).
What is APA's Agent Training Program?
APA's Agent Training Program offers the unique opportunity for Trainees to experience one-on-one mentorship with Agents, as well as exposure to APA's various divisions including: Concerts, Comedy, Talent, Television Literary, Motion Picture Literary, Physical Production, Alternative and Factual Programming, and Branding and Digital.
Trainees who are accepted into the Agent Training Program undergo 4-5 weeks of intensive training (APA University), with the goal of being imparted with a strong foundation of the essential skills required for a successful career as an Agent at APA and within the entertainment industry.
Position Overview
Your role as the Manager, Agent Training Program would be to ensure the ongoing success of the Agent Training Program and operations of APA's mailroom.
Responsibilities + Duties
• Manage mailroom operations (inventory & ordering, scheduling mail and supply runs, open/close schedule, conference room set ups, etc.)
• Coordinate Lunch and Learns/Speaker Series with APA Agents and Coordinators
• Lead teaching tutorials on phones, script coverage, mailroom procedures, Agency etiquette, systems/programs (Outlook, Dial Log, Oasis)
• Assist in recruitment for the ATP
• Scheduling/staffing temporary desk coverage for assistants that are out of the office
• Help facilitate and manage the Summer Internship Program
Skills + Qualifications
• Bachelors degree from an accredited University or College
• 3+ years of learning & development, training, or office management/operations
• Calendar management, event planning, and logistics experience
• Employee development and coaching experience preferred
• Employee relations experience preferred
• Understanding of the entertainment industry and familiarity with agency culture preferred
Personal Attributes
• Must be detail oriented and able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Proven team player, with the ability to work independently
• Responsive; consistent follow-up and follow-through
• Objective and effective problem solver
• Resilient and persistent in the face of obstacles
• Comfortable sharing and receiving constructive feedback
• Strong oral and written communication skills for internal and external audiences
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
