The Content Licensing Specialist will oversee our organization's US content strategy, negotiations and implementation. Candidate will be the company's lead content executive and responsible for the successful development in a dynamic and innovative content strategy that will propel us as the global leader in African-American streaming media. The candidate will oversee all marketing content initiatives, both internal and external, across multiple platforms and formats to drive sales, engagement, retention, leads and positive customer behavior.
The position collaborates with internal departments (communications, marketing, customer service, IT and others) to help define both the brand story and the story as interpreted by the customer.
The Core Responsibilities
Map out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand and why. Continuous evolvement of strategy is a must
Ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all channels of content including online, social media, email, point of purchase, mobile, video, print and in-person
Integration of content activities within online/offline marketing campaigns and initiatives globally
Determine content effectiveness with a focus on analytics and return on investment. Working with owners of particular content to revise and measure particular content and marketing goals.
Lead and inspire teams of creative personnel and content creators to achieve the company's stated goals.
Develop standards, systems and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval, licensing and content repurposing, including the implementation of content strategy.
Create and leverage market data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support a point of view and educate customers with the hope of receiving critical behavioral metrics.
Establishing workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content. Work with technical team to implement these items
Ensuring consistent content experience and implement appropriate localization/translation strategies
The development of a functional content calendar.
Manage profitable relationships with partners, vendors and content creators.
Experience and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field. MBA in marketing a plus.
Expert in content business operations and managing external studio relationships and independent content creators.
Expert in strategic planning and strategic business development.
10-15 years of experience as a respected leader in multichannel African-American content.
Strong Expertise in all major business and internet tools and software solutions.
Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
The candidate role is a key member of the management team, reporting only to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Candidate to maintain control of diverse content operations.
