Job Summary:
The Sr. Benefits Analyst is responsible for executing all analysis, research, evaluation, audits for all benefits programs, including but not limited to health & welfare plans, Affordable Care Act, retirement, wellness, and all employee programs in compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, ACA and applicable Federal and/or State employment laws and regulations.
Essential Duties:
Primary contact to finance, HRIS, external vendors, auditor, benefits broker and external payroll vendors for benefits related matters including inquiries/requests following all applicable HIPAA, PHI, DOL, ACA, ERISA and IRS regulations.
Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for all benefits data and file feeds
Identifies and analyzes gaps and deficiencies in our current administrative process and makes recommendations for process improvement
Supports Benefits department by creating, analyzing, and compiling statistics or metric analysis to identify and resolve systems/or process issues.
Works with internal and external partners to test and update systems for accuracy of data exchanges.
Performs periodic analysis to identify trends and make recommendations to Benefits department for the development and implementation of process improvement.
Responsible for conducting monthly billing reconciliation and processing invoices which include: analyzing reports, reconciling data to determine if adjustments are necessary and submitting final payment requests/reports to finance and broker.
Teams with ACA administrator to administer and ensure compliance with ACA mandates. Works with vendor to perform a through analysis of data in order to process/execute 1094-C and 1095-C compliance requirement.
Responds to Child Support Orders and communicates with employees and HR Partners including coordination of deductions with internal/external payrolls.
Responsible for analyzing/approving 401(k) contributions and processing HSA contribution loads.
Establishes and manages payroll and benefit closed loop deductions validation process to target discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, and work with internal teams and vendor to resolve and prioritize issue resolution.
Collaborates with Payroll, HRIS, Vendors and HR Partners as needed to troubleshoot benefit related issues.
Works on Human Resources and Benefits-related projects in conjunction with other team members
Works with Sr Director Benefits & Payroll to identify program changes and communicate requirements to Payroll and HRIS team. This may include testing internal changes and updates to vendor integrations.
Responsible for annual Non-Discrimination testing and Annual 401(k) Plan audit, ensuring company compliance with provisions of ERISA and other regulatory requirements throughout the year.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
BA/BS Degree (4-year)Business or related area
Work Experience: 4-6 years related work experience
Prior experience with benefit vendor systems interface in upload/download data directly from/to vendor portal and the ability to learn a variety of systems, either in-house or vendor website
Experience working with in a multi-state employer
Knowledge of applicable benefit laws and regulations such as HIPAA, ERISA, PHI, COBRA, ACA etc.
Ability to work with confidential and highly sensitive personal information; maintain compliance with HIPAA.
Analytical skills with the ability to use sound judgment to resolve routine and non-routine issues.
Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees (both orally and in writing)Ability to think creatively and multi-task effectively.
Exceptional computer skills: Microsoft Word/Excel, Pivot Table, and VLOOKUP required.
Ability to interpret and present data.
Must be able to manage priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Continue to be abreast to changes in Federal and State Laws
