Stage Supervisor / Resident Tech

Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
• Provide technical support for stage productions, including scenic construction, painting, rigging, and crew supervision.
• Oversee and assist with the engineering, construction, installation, and strike of props and furniture; collaborate with the PM and/or TD to oversee the safe, functional integration of props and furniture with scenic elements.
• Maintain accurate and updated ground plans of the stage to ensure clear information is being shared to outside shops and crews for easy and accurate installation and set up of sets and other outside technical gear.
• Operate and oversee the use of Company machinery and tools, including saws, fastening tools, and paint equipment.
• Oversee crew members (including overhires) during load-in / load-out ensuring the safe and efficient operation of tools and equipment.
• Maintain proficiency in turntable operation and programming. (Training provided.)
• Supervise performance presets and manage crew members (including stagehands, lightboard, projection/video and turntable operators) during load-in and load-out processes, as well of during the run of shows.
• Perform theater repairs as needed (includes carpentry, painting, construction).
• Attend production meetings during tech and previews, addressing prop, furniture, and set notes in a timely manner.
• Transport scenic and prop pieces as required in designated Company vehicle.
• Drive Company vehicles or a rented truck to pick up various scenic pieces, props, costume packages, etc… as needed for production.
• Maintain Company storage spaces, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and the proper upkeep of stored items (as well as clear inventory tracking in conjunction with Production team).
• Perform other duties as directed by Management or mutually agreed upon as the position evolves.
More Information:
• Reports directly to the Production Manager.
• This is a full time position where nights, weekends, early mornings are required from time to time (particularly while in load in, load out, tech rehearsals and production).
• Qualities required: self-starter, collaborative, good leader, understanding of all technical aspects of theater, must take ownership over the position and be organized.
Salary/Benefits
$48,500.00
- 53,500.00
per year
Pay Period: Weekly - paid on a week-lag (exempt)
Benefits: Participation in Company sponsored Health Insurance Plan, and Paid Time Off following 3 months of employment.
