For the Fall of 2019, we are excited to welcome interns to be part of the Acentric Magazine team. We are seeking music loving individuals who are highly motivated with a specific interest in learning more about graphic design. This is a remote internship that will allow you to work under the guidance of one of the Acentric team members.
Through this internship, the Acentric Magazine team will guide you through various projects to give you an understanding of how a graphic designer operates within a music publication, and help you learn more about what we do and why we do it.
Some responsibilities include:
-Creating design templates
-Pitching/critiquing design concepts
-Designing various web/print graphics
-Working with an existing brand guide
-Fostering professional relationships
We ask interns to commit to at least 2 days a week (Monday - Friday) for 10 weeks. Internship length can go on longer according to college requirements.
About Acentric Magazine:
Acentric Magazine is a print and web based publication where you can discover and keep up with established and emerging creatives, across all industries and from all corners of the world. At its core, we are dedicated to sharing our passions, building a community of innovators, and encouraging others to do the same.
Candidates must be able to accept college credit for the internship. In addition, interns must be able to work remotely, provide their own laptop and design programs, flexible to adapt to changing deadlines, possess excellent organizational skills and have a team mentality. Acentric Magazine prides itself on its family-like community, and we want our interns to be a great fit with our unique team. Hand lettering experience is a plus.
Additional benefits include:
-Letter of recommendation once internship ends
-Opportunity to create portfolio worthy work
-References for future work opportunities
-Portfolio review/advice with mentor
Most importantly, Acentric is determined to make sure that each individual walks away from this internship with a greater understanding of graphic design, and is able to confidently take their next steps into the field.
