Jr. Creative / Design Coordinator

Absolute Merch is a full service merchandising company based in Costa Mesa with deep roots in the music and entertainment industry. Current clients include Blackbear, Red Bull Records, Warner Music Group, Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Vans Warped Tour, AMC, Good Charlotte, Lil Xan, Neck Deep, and many more.

We are looking to add a dynamic full-time team member to work from our creative office/warehouse space in Costa Mesa, CA where we pride ourselves on having a laid back environment promoting creativity and encouraging a self-starter mentality.

The successful applicant will be organized, able to multitask-task, manage multiple ongoing relationships/projects, and have a deep appreciation for / understanding of music + lifestyle merchandising. The ideal candidate will have some prior design background and is proficient in Adobe Photoshop.

Job Functions:
• Communicate with Absolute Merch A&R/creative managers, project managers, and in some cases directly with client + client's team to understand specific vision and direction for design and artwork ideas.
• Act as a liaison between our network of freelance designers and Absolute Merch project managers to solicit, review, compile, and mockup design ideas for clients.
• Add creative input as well as review client's comments, notes, and revisions. Facilitate getting those revisions implemented with our network of freelance designers and send through updates to client.
• Use Absolute Merch templates to mockup designs/garment ideas and compile into a deck/spread to present ideas to client.
• Maintain database of Absolute Merch network of freelance designers. Keep organized notes on art/designs needing to be solicited + who is working on what. Actively follow up about progress according to deadlines.

Skills/Abilities:
• Advanced Adobe Photoshop skills. Adobe Illustrator skills are a plus.
• Ability to interact comfortably and effectively with external partners, our network of freelance designers, and clients.
• Ability to interact comfortably and effectively with employees of the company at all levels including Executive Management.
• Possess strong attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Proactive in determining roadblocks

• Interest & excitement in a broad array of genres of music and their corresponding merchandise / fashion trends

Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of related experience in a merchandising or design related environment. (Freelance designing counts.)
