Search for Associate Attorney jobs in Los Angeles-CA
AGMB is looking for an entry-level attorney to join its Los Angeles litigation and entertainment departments. The position will focus primarily on a wide variety of litigation matters, but the candidate must also be able to handle trademark and copyright registrations and various corporate and entertainment matters.
Litigation Duties:
• Coordinate, collaborate and support other litigation attorneys.
• Prepare and file pleading, discovery, and motion papers.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and rules related to all litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research.
• Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
• Prepare for and advocate at court proceedings and trials.
Other Duties:
• Draft and prepare estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, power of attorney, and probate documentation.
• Draft and negotiate entertainment related agreements, including development, production, and distribution agreements for film and television projects.
• Assist clients with corporate formation and preparation of corporate documents.
• Negotiate and draft non-disclosure agreements, service agreements, employment, and other ordinary course-of-business contracts.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school and California Bar admission.
• Exposure to and an understanding of matters relating to intellectual property, particularly copyright law, would be ideal.
• Exposure to and an understanding of matters relating to business, tax, and corporate law.
• A positive, tenacious and energetic can-do attitude.
• An excellent work ethic and commitment to professionalism.
• Must be willing to take ownership of projects and think proactively.
• Analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, negotiation, strategic thinking, and legal reasoning skills.
• Strong project management, time management, and long-term planning skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to handle a high volume of work and work through projects with minimal supervision.
