ABC7 Sales/Marketing Internship (KABC-TV) - Spring 2020
Job Summary:
KABC-TV is an ABC owned television station (OTVS), located in a state-of-the-art facility in Glendale, near downtown Los Angeles. The station is in the #2 ranked television market in the country. Weekly, ABC7 produces over forty-four hours of local news, public affairs, magazine programs and public service campaigns. You will have opportunity to observe and participate in the daily work and operations of a major market television station.
Responsibilities:
A day in the life…
Some of your projects with the ABC7 Sales Marketing team may include:
• Liaising between sales account executives and the creative services team, to execute promotional campaigns of both marketing of station-wide initiatives and specific client promotions
• Promotional spot production and managing details for sweepstakes
• New business campaigns, working with the team and clients to ensure a smooth transition into local broadcast television advertising
• Providing recaps for sales promotions and sweepstakes
• Building out sweepstakes online and prize fulfillment
• Customizing presentation decks for digital and promotional campaigns
• Gathering assets for billboards, on-air promo spots, station integrations, and ''Localish'' segments
Basic Qualifications:
What you bring to the role…
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Prior experience within marketing and/or sales, professionally or as an internship
• Prior experience working in an office setting, including answering phones and emails
• Proficiency with social media management
Preferred Qualifications:
• Junior or Senior-level standing, or a recent graduate within 6 months of graduation date
• Major or previous coursework in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration or related major
• Prior experience within marketing and/or sales, professionally or as an internship
• Able to take initiative and have follow-through on projects
• Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
Additional Information:
• All candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• All candidates must be at least 18 years old
• All candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program in order to qualify for this internship
• All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
Program Dates
• All candidates must be available from January - May
• All candidates must be available to work 24 hours per week during a Monday through Friday schedule (days to be determined by your supervisor)
• All candidates must be able to work in the Glendale office and provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
