Summer Intern - Podcast, Fivethirtyeight

FiveThirtyEight is an award-winning site focused on providing data-driven journalism in sports, politics, and science. FiveThirtyEight was founded by Nate Silver.

We're hiring someone to help with production on our podcasts - including the FiveThirtyEight Politics show and potential miniseries.

Responsibilities:

A day in the life…

You will be integrated into the production and research for our shows, helping our producers and hosts every week and playing an integral role in what goes on the air.

Basic Qualifications:

What you bring to the role…

You should have basic audio editing and production skills and a keen interest in both the production and editorial side of audio.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a newsroom or radio station, or otherwise producing a podcast series
• Familiarity with the process of uploading and distributing audio/video to iTunes, Soundcloud and other mediums
• Audio editing proficiency (eg Final Cut, Pro Tools, Hindenberg, etc.)

Additional Information:

Internship Eligibility:
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must be at least 18 years old
• At the time of application, must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class – OR – be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months - OR - be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
• Must be willing to relocate to the New York City area and provide your own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
• Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program

Program Dates:
• Must be available from May/June to August/September
• Must be willing to work 40 hours/week
