Full Time Unpaid Internship
Operations/Production Internship (WABC-TV) Summer 2020
Job Summary:
WABC-TV, the flagship Disney/ABC – owned television station in New York, is the most-watched television station in the New York Television market and the United States. WABC also leads the market in station websites and has the highest social media engagement.
Interns will work directly with the Station Operations Manager & Production Manager. You will learn the process of how we get our programs on the air. Interaction with distributors and syndicators, as well as assisting in the coordination of our weekly air schedule. Interns will also learn about FCC regulations, music rights and licensing. At the end of this internship, students should have a good idea of where their area of interest truly lies and whether they have the skill set necessary to make it in the television business.
Responsibilities:
A day in the life…
You will be immersed in all aspects of production:
• Assisting on field shoots, transcribing and logging taped interviews
• Researching/fact checking and gathering post-production elements such as graphics and music
• Interfacing with the marketing, sales, promotions, news and art departments
Basic Qualifications:

• Strong interest in the Television industry
• Experience with MS Office (Tech Savvy)
• A self-starter and willingness to take initiative
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Passion to make the most out of the experience for your future
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong writing skills
• Junior or Senior-level standing
Additional Information:
Program Eligibility
• All students must possess unrestricted work authorization
• All students must be at least 18 years old
• At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• All candidates must be available from May through August
• All candidates must be willing to work 16 hours/week
• All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
• All students must provide a consistent, reliable work schedule during the session
