Senior Social Media Producer (Good Morning America)
Job Summary:
The Senior Social Media Producer is a key member of the Good Morning America Social Team, responsible for leading the team that is in charge of presenting GMA content to audiences across all digital and social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, etc.). This person will create and maintain best practices that grow total audience engagement, and merge social and digital content together in a cohesive manner.
The SSMP will be responsible for daily communication with the show to help prioritize social coverage for the team on a daily basis. The SSMP will be on set during show hours, arranging social coverage with show producers and social producers and liaisoning with broadcast. For major news event coverage, the SSMP will work with broadcast and PR to ensure we are maximizing our social coverage. The SSMP will be expected to attend all show meetings to ensure that we are covering the topics that need to be covered from the show in an appropriate manner on social and to help prep the team for big interviews and events.
The SSMP will be responsible for communication with the sales and marketing teams, ensuring we are delivering on all sales responsibilities and projects. The SSMP will help produce social content that the sales team needs delivered.
The SSMP will be responsible for brainstorming 360 ideas that would involve all sides of the brand, TV-Social-Digital-Live, under the supervision of GMA Digital leadership and then executing those ideas with all parties.
The SSMP will be responsible for assisting the Managing Editor in working with ABC TV shows and Disney properties – helping organize social and digital content for The Bachelor, DWTS, etc. and making sure we promote synergy partners.
The SSMP will be in charge of tweet machine staffing with the show. This will entail training GMA interns and staff on how to use it, working with show producers and graphics on when to staff it and running the machine when it cannot be staffed.
The SSMP will be responsible for ensuring the social team delivers on traffic and video view goals each month and will implement strategies to ensure goals are met.
The SSMP will lead the social team on a day-to-day basis, which will require leading staffing plans for major news events and guiding the voice of GMA social. This also includes working with the lifestyle video and editorial teams to ensure we are programming all channels with original digital content as well as show content.
The SSMP will also work with GMA talent on a day to day basis to ensure we are capitalizing on content across the network for Instagram Stories.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for guiding the voice of Good Morning America on social media
• Create engaging content, including video, for social platforms
• Assist in development and implementation of a social media strategy to drive followers, engagement, and conversation across all social arms
• Identify new social opportunities while partnering with show producers
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in social media for a network news organization
• Comfortable leading a team on a day to day basis
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Adherence to the highest standards of journalism
Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of social discovery tools like Crowdtangle and Storyful
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
