Job Summary:
ABC News Nightline is Hiring a Senior Producer. ABC News' ''Nightline'' is late-night television's prestigious, award-winning news program featuring the most powerful, in-depth stories that shape our lives and the world around us. It is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Steven Baker is executive producer. Besides producing the 12:35 am television show, the nightline team is also responsible for producing long form content for the network and other platforms. Nightline producers directed the feature length film ''After Parkland'' which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and ''The Dropout'' which started as a podcast and nightline feature and grew into a 2 hour 20/20 event, now a Hulu scripted series. The nightline team is also responsible for producing long form content for Hulu including ''Killer on Floor 32'', ''Modern Baby'', and ''The Bomber.''
Responsibilities:
Senior producers at nightline are responsible for overseeing the producing staff, managing the editorial process and production of each piece and generating new ideas for future content. Candidates should have a minimum of ten years' experience in video journalism, with a heavy background in long form (television or digital). The ideal candidate will offer creative and innovative ideas for long form story-telling as well as have the ability to work under pressure and handle breaking news. Candidates should have a strong interest in documentaries as the nightline group continues to produce longer content for streaming platforms. Schedule wise, candidates should anticipate working until show time (12:35 am) at least once a week.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in broadcast journalism, with heavy background in long form (both writing and producing)
• Strong editorial judgment
Required Education
• 4 years undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
