This is a Full Time Job
ABC News Digital is hiring a Senior Photo Editor.
Responsibilities:
Research, edit, pitch, produce and write copy for a wide-variety of news stories for ABC News across a variety of platforms.
Basic Qualifications:
Excellent picture selection along with strong communication skills, writing skills and sound news judgment. Considerable experience with copyright law including fair use, defamation and libel in a news environment as well as an astute eye for journalistic ethics and standards. Knowledge of current photo agencies, freelance photographers and other sources for images. Leadership skills, and ability to manage short and long-term projects independently as well as breaking news. Experience with commissioning, scheduling, contracts and budgets. Adobe Photoshop, DAMs, and experience with digital publishing is a must, video editing is a plus. Ability to use data analytics, SEO, and follow AP Style, along with multi-tasking, prioritizing and working collaboratively in high-pressure environment. Minimum of 10 years of newsroom experience.
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree from accredited college
• College degree in Photojournalism or related field required.
