Publicist (FX Networks)
Job Summary:
FX is seeking a Publicist to assist in executing publicity campaigns. This includes pitching press opportunities, selecting clips for talk show appearances, drafting press releases, securing and editing material for media guides and covering set visits and events to cultivate media support and awareness of the company.
Responsibilities:
• Duties include pitching to media; writing and editing press releases, bios and all other collateral publicity materials for assigned shows; booking and coordinating print and online interviews, talk show appearances and other press-related functions.
• Draft talent itineraries, facilitate press interviews, and escort talent through press opportunities.
• Select electronic clips for talent media appearances, collaborating with legal in clearing clips for use.
• Assist in the planning of press conferences, TCA sessions and various PR events.
• Assist with all FX events, providing support for FX Media Relations Department as needed.
• Work with FX Publicity team in set visits, special events, premieres, conventions, trade shows, photoshoots and press junkets.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years previous experience in television publicity at a network or agency
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and with various personalities tactfully and professionally
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), social media savvy and experience with Muck Rack a plus
• Must be self-motivated, resourceful and a self-starter, with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
Required Education
• 4 year college degree in Communications and/or equivalent work experience
