Job Summary:
ABC News is looking for production associate ready to innovate and experiment with new forms of video storytelling. The production associate will support producers to create original video content for a digital newscast with ABC News correspondents and producers around the globe. This role will include weekend hours that may shift as we continually work to optimize the show's performance.
Responsibilities:
• Transcribe interviews and conduct research on the segments
• Help create templated graphics for segments
• Gather elements for news stories (i.e. photos, footage, music)
• Manage deliverables and story archive
• Support producers and associate producers in story development
• Pitch stories with a focus on pushing the bounds of vertical video
• Assist on shoots and original stories that are being produced in the field
Basic Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of experience working in a professional newsroom
• Strong sense of mobile friendly video content
• Some familiarity with AVID and non-linear editing
• Willingness to embrace new audience tastes and trends
• Ability to balance multiple priorities, projects and tasks
• Brings energy, humor and positivity to the team
Preferred Qualifications:
• Comfortable covering stories on a wide range of topics
• Well-organized and good at rolling with change
• Basic understanding of Adobe After Effects is preferred
Required Education
• BA or BS from a 4 year accredited college or university or equivalent experience
