Job Summary:
Do you have a passion for politics and political story-telling? Are you creative and ambitious? Are you a Sunday Morning News Junkie? ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos is looking for a Producer who is ready to dive into Penn Ave politics and the 2020 elections. We are seeking a Producer who will help drive editorial coverage with dynamic, relevant interviews; robust, engaging discussion, and compelling, urgent analysis -- both on air and on social platforms. The Producer should have a deep knowledge of politics, public affairs, and an active interest in current events both domestic and international. We need someone who comes with big ideas to engage audiences on all platforms. A flair for the unconventional is welcome. A stickler for accuracy is a must. A successful candidate has strong editorial skills, strong news judgment and strong social media abilities.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and Develop segment ideas from Pitch to Air
• Create and Drive Social media
• Write scripts, VOS and produce packages
• React quickly to news events
• Manage production assets: sound, video, and graphic elements
• Cultivate new voices
• Develop opportunities to extend the This Week brand
• Collaborate with Special Events
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in TV production
• Strong editorial skills
• Strong writer
• Strong news judgment
• Strong research skills
• Strong Social Production Skills
• Utility Player: Ability to jump in to handle any task
• Demonstrated ability to work under extreme deadlines
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Understanding of digital platforms and social media
• Strong knowledge of Politics and Elections
• Control room experience a plus
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
