ABC NEWS WASHINGTON is hiring a Producer/Reporter, Pennsylvania Avenue.

Responsibilities:

ABC News Washington is looking for a Producer/Reporter to join our Pennsylvania Avenue team. The Producer/Reporter will cover the White House beat for all ABC News platforms, including broadcast, digital, and radio. This producer must be able to work in a fast past, breaking news environment and be willing to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends. The Producer/Reporter will work closely with ABC's Pennsylvania Avenue Unit correspondents, who cover the White House and Hill, will be expected to deliver new reporting and to develop and maintain contacts and sources within the administration. This position requires a mix of skills including strong reporting, television news script writing, and the ability to shoot taped material. Travel on short notice is expected and may be necessary for extended periods.

Basic Qualifications:

• Candidates must have superior news judgment and ability to find primary sources to produce daily story assignments, breaking news events, and long-term futures reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years journalism experience in a news environment with extensive writing, reporting and producing is preferred.
• Significant White House, congressional and/or political reporting experience is highly desirable.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
