Job Summary:
Overview:
Reporting to the VP, Operations & Business Planning, this role will lead and manage WABC's financial planning (strategic, operating and capital), financial reporting and accounting and day-to-day business operations. The role is based in New York City and is responsible for managing 2 direct reports. The Manager will develop metrics, reporting tools and benchmarking to drive profitability and productivity. In this role, the Manager must develop strong collaborative relationships with WABC and Corporate management teams and our business partners across Sales, Production, Creative, HR, Legal and Administrative functions.
Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, coach, and develop a team to drive overall planning, forecasting, reporting, accounting and day-to-day business operations.
Partner closely with Station and Corporate management teams across Sales, News, Programming, Creative, Production, Finance, IT, HR, Legal and Administrative functions in providing insight and analysis to support the business in driving exceptional performance.
Collaborate with Company and third party business partners to optimize business processes and shared resource utilization.
Develop key metrics, forecasts, and reporting to monitor business performance.
• Analyze, track and manage operating and capital expense budgets throughout the year.
• Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and reporting packages in accordance with GAAP.
• Complete ad hoc reports and analyses in support of strategic initiatives and special projects.
• Develop and manage financial reporting dashboard including but not limited to weekly, monthly and quarterly results, ROI metrics, performance benchmarking, etc.
• Effectively manipulate and analyze data sets.
Create and deliver effective presentations and analyses to executive management.
Oversee the daily operational functions of the Finance Team, including staffing and performance management.
Basic Qualifications:
5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in managing business and financial planning, analysis and reporting teams.
Ability to analyze complex information, draw logical conclusions about business implications and identify actions.
Knowledge of accounting (US GAAP); accounting experience preferred
Confidence and ability to effectively create and deliver presentations to all audiences up to executive levels.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience with ability to instill trust, motivate, coach, mentor, advise and build partnerships across all levels of the organization.
Strong system software skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Reporting system is preferred.
Ability to simultaneously execute multiple assignments with competing deadlines/priorities.
Ability to think strategically but also enjoy rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
