Job Summary:
Walt Disney Television is seeking a Manager of Finance supporting development for Twentieth Century Fox Television. Reporting to the Executive Director, this individual will lead financial analysis and reporting primarily in support of overall deals and will work closely with the DTS Finance leadership to guide studio executives by providing high-quality, accurate and timely financial information to be used in the strategic decision making process. The manager must be comfortable working with and presenting to senior executives. This position requires excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills as well as an acute attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Financial analysis for development spend tracking and forecasting
• Prepare earnings statements for senior management, including Business Affairs and Legal
• Ensure payment authorizations are processed in accordance with deal terms
• Manage tracking of individual targets for increases and bonuses to be covered in the forecast
• Work closely with creative executives on credited earnings statements
• Review overall agreements for appropriate charge-offs to productions
• Partner with Production Accounting and Business Affairs on open items as needed
• Identify over-recoupment positions in advance to adjust forecast and notify teams
• Produce quarterly commitment report, identifying new and revised projections
• Manage credited earnings and unrecouped guarantee allocation statements for Participations.
• Prepare write-off projections for term deals and review with senior management.
• Ad hoc analysis as needed
Manage operational responsibilities related to development spend.
• Accountable for Input on all term deals, including recoupments and network reimbursables, in the system
• Ensure that all agreements and cost basis of agreements are documented
• Clarify agreements and resolve inconsistencies
• Audit and code payment authorizations
• Review for adjustments from prior years, as needed
• Track and report expiring and pending deals
• Monitor spend against policy limits
Assist with additional Finance department duties, as needed
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience. Entertainment industry experience is a plus, but not mandatory
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate well with all levels of management
• Must be able to thrive well in an extremely busy and varied environment and meet deadlines
• Strong technical skills: MS Office; Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint. Experience with PeopleSoft & Microsoft Access is a plus
• Advanced financial modeling skills
• Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize and resolve an array of issues simultaneously
• Innovative orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Required Education
• B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting or Business related field
