Manager, Creative Advertising (Print)

The Manager, Creative Advertising- Print will work closely with the VP of Creative Advertising in conceptualizing, creating, managing, and fulfilling creative marketing materials supporting theatrical releases for The Walt Disney Studios. The brands will include, 20th Century Studios, Pixar Animation, Lightstorm Ent., LUCASFILM and Disney .
Responsibilities:
Creative Project Management:
• Manager produces, creative directs, and oversees creative materials supporting campaigns across various animation titles, working closely with Director and VP of Creative Print in a support role
• Creates schedules and tracks key project deliverable timelines, ensuring project is moving smoothly and delivers on time at the highest quality
• Manage and secure all appropriate approvals for all creative campaign pieces (legal, strategy, etc).
• Provides creative feedback and creative direction to internal partners to ensure artwork aligns with campaign strategy and goals
• Relay executive notes to and from vendors for all current projects (key art, in-theater, pose finishes, OOH finishes, etc).
• Reviews all final assets to ensure accuracy prior to the review/approval of Director and/or VP for wide distribution
• Fulfill asset and art requests from internal partners and external vendors. Acts as a gatekeeper for asset distribution and management, including distribution of files on Wonderland.
• Mange all the uploading and downloading of digital receivables to/from agencies, and filing accordingly on department server
• Oversee the deliverables and status of all marketing character poses, including relaying creative notes to finishing team, as well as production through final distribution.
• Manage all creative submissions/reviews and requests from other departments/teams for Director and/or VP executive approval. Relay notes and provide creative feedback in order to maintain consistency in campaign design and ensure alignment with marketing strategy.
• Lead Filmmaker Deck print materials and make sure all materials are laid out, approved, and submitted on time.
• Lead the creation and distribution of the Studio Marketing Guide for each film, securing content and approvals.
• Update and track statuses of all current projects for weekly agenda reviews.
• Manages the security clearance and agreements of our external agencies
• Assists Director with estimate and budget management for various projects
Print Production:
• Along with Director, co-lead the execution of print production campaign materials for OOH, Signage, Eventizing, Marquees, In-theater, and internal partner needs. Work directly with creative agencies to lay out all print mechanicals and digital production materials, securing executive and legal approvals.
• Work closely with media buying team, creative agencies and fulfillment house to ensure deliverables and assets are created to spec and delivered accurately and on time by deadline.
• Attend Press Checks and color reviews with Director, managing notes and keeping agencies and project revisions on track.
• Provide all specs, grids, and materials to agencies. Manage and track all status/tracking and production grids, ensuring all projects and mechanicals are laid out correctly, are printed, shipped, and installed on schedule. Manage each step of the process while resolving any issues that may arise.
• Manage ordering and licensing of all needed stock images.
Basic Qualifications:
• 5 years experience working in creative advertising/marketing or related filed, preferably in entertainment.
• Must have a creative background dealing with art and artists.
• Possess a strong creative point of view and aesthetic ensuring creative materials are produced at high quality level
• Keen eye for design, and ability to art direct development of creative advertising materials
• Passionate about creative advertising/marketing
• Ability to evaluate color is required, especially when on press checks.
• Computer skills required – MAC: Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and Keynote. Proficiency needed with Photoshop, Illustrator and In-Design.
• Marketing/Advertising experience highly desirable.
• Graphic Design background and experience working with large Photoshop files and knowledge of graphic terminology strongly desired.
• Experience interfacing with high-level executive and/or filmmakers highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Candidate must have an eye for creativity and detail, and hold quality control at the highest priority.
• Candidate must be extremely organized, have excellent time management skills in order to manage large volumes of projects and have a great eye for detail.
• Candidate must be able to be proactive and resourceful.
• Candidate must be able to juggle many large projects in various degrees of completion at the same time.
• Candidate must be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing with partners, vendors and studio executives.
• Candidate must have consistent follow-through ability to traffic communication and ensure project accuracy.
• Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Candidate must be flexible, open-minded and patient with a high sense of urgency, but able to keep extremely calm under pressure.
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree minimum. Preferably a degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Cinema/Television or related field.
