This is a Full Time Job
The View is looking for an Associate Producer that will assist the show and co-hosts in various capabilities. The primary duties are focused in three areas: Hot Topics, human interest, and research.
Responsibilities:
• Research political articles, national statistics for polling, and conservative commentary on current events and breaking news.
• Brief co-hosts on hot topics and news of the day. Format all meeting notes and research onto blue cards for co-hosts.
• Research and pitch nationwide human interest topics and stories that may be relevant or reflective of the current tone of the show and the political climate.
• Write questions and conduct pre-interviews with human interest guests along with contact sheets and research packet.
• Coordinate meetings with the Human Interest Senior Producer, legal team, standards, and outside sales organizations for sponsorships or integrations.
• Book Human Interest guests and coordinate travel agreements with the Talent and Travel Coordinator.
• Create Google Doc of archived shows and segment moments for various taped pieces (Year Ender, MLK Day, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.) for the Tape Department to retrieve and store for viewing.
• View archived footage of shows and document/highlight fun, influential, and/or pertinent moments for corresponding tape piece and mark out moments for the editors.
• Sit with the editors and clip down moments from editors string out for a first draft preview before the producer reviews for walk through edit.
• Create & distribute research packets filled with articles, interviews, bios, filmographies, and any informative data for segment producers for celebrity guests appearing on the show.
• Fact check, research and review snipes, cold open, teases, sales pods, chyrons, and segment scripts.
• Compile and send out 317s for show credits.
• Support the tape and stills departments as a fill in as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must have current experience doing research and story generation for news or entertainment show.
• Must have strong background in politics.
• Must have thorough knowledge of political news and current events.
• Must have strong writing skills.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
