DESCRIPTION:
ABC13 is looking for an experienced manager of a portion of our 13 hours of live daily news. This role will encompass all of our digital and linear endpoints, and the right candidate will have experience managing teams across that spectrum.

We readily study ratings, research, and intuition to develop and regularly update our strategies for each platform we serve. We regularly pivot on a dime depending on the circumstances, and we expect our team to respond quickly and appropriately to change and the needs of our audience – which is shifting rapidly.
Whether it's for breaking weather or traffic, big breaking news, or important investigative work, we produce 13 live hours of news a day.
The right candidate has a high attention to detail, understanding the nuances of every element we stream or broadcast, and has a high technical skill to manage and regularly operate our newsroom production system, alongside our producer/anchors. Additionally, the candidate must have been in a control room, producing and managing newscasts recently.
Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operations, production, and leadership of streaming products and live events.
• Responsible for linear newscasts, production, execution, and news judgement for what goes into newscasts.
• Training for those who produce linear or streaming newscasts with limited resources.
Basic Qualifications
• Must have 5 years prior experience in Top 10 market experience in day-to-day operations, production, and leadership of local news streaming products.
• Making quick, strategic decisions is a must, along with close collaboration with the other newsroom and station leaders.
• Having a strong, thoughtful but compassionate voice when making decisions with our team is a requirement.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, or related field.
