News Photographer

KFSN-TV/ABC30 Action News is seeking an experienced News Photographer. We are looking for a modern content creator who works productively as a team with a reporter or independently. We want someone to join our team who is inherently creative, embraces new technology and has a desire to expand their storytelling techniques on a daily basis. A successful candidate will be highly motivated with a proven track record in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of daily local news gathering. The ideal candidate thrives under continuous deadlines, approaches challenges with a problemsolving mindset, and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and a proven work ethic.

Responsibilities:
• Shoot & edit video for daily newscasts while meeting strict deadlines
• Set up, light, and transmit live shots
• Communicate with assignment desk & producers
• Assist with upkeep of equipment
• Create graphic elements for news stories

Minimum Qualifications:
• Experience shooting, editing, and producing high-quality video content in a fast-paced professional or college newsroom environment
• Proficiency in field cameras, lighting, and non-linear editing
• Ability to work as a self-starter, often alone, to find, shoot, and report stories with strong news judgment
• Proficiency in using non-linear editing software
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, especially for breaking news
• Ability to carry, lift, and move up to 50+ pounds of equipment
• Valid license and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications
• Small to medium market experience as a News Photographer/Editor
• Knowledge of live technology, such as Dejero and LiveU
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
• Experience creating vertical videos

Required Education
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education
• Some college preferred

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between IBEW-45 and KFSN-TV.
