A Noise Within, Southern California's Classical Theatre Company, seeks an energetic and knowledgeable leader for the position of Interim Technical Director. Reporting to the General Manager and the Producing Artistic Directors, this position is responsible for coordinating and supervising all production aspects of our September-through-May season from load in to changeover to strike as well as maintenance of our beautiful 3-year-old stage space and facility in Pasadena. The position encompasses three primary components:
1. Leading the production team and liaising with an external scene shop to execute and maintain the vision of each show's artistic team
2. Coordinating, staffing, and executing safe and efficient installation, rotation, and strike of sets, lights, sound, and other production elements
3. Coordination of facilities maintenance and upgrading
We seek an individual with hands-on backstage production experience including carpentry, rigging, electrics (e.g. troubleshooting light and sound board issues), and a professional understanding of costumes and scenic painting to take a leadership role in navigating the complexities of a repertory schedule, including communication with all relevant stakeholders, and executing the highest standards of theatrical craft.
This position is intended to be temporary - potentially through May - and may lead to a full-time position.
