THE ROLE: VP, Consumer Marketing & Media – HISTORY (Temporary)
The VP, HISTORY Consumer Marketing & Media is responsible for the development and stewardship of marketing strategies that directly contribute to the achievement of HISTORY and AEN portfolio business goals. This person will report directly into the SVP, Consumer Marketing & Media.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
VP, HISTORY Consumer Marketing & Media (Temporary):
• Develop data-driven recommendations on marketing priorities to deliver on overall business goals
• Work closely with Research team to establish measurements of success, analyze marketing performance, and identify test-and-learn opportunities
• Partner with VP, HISTORY Creative Marketing to ensure alignment of creative strategy with campaign objectives, provide audience insights to aid in development of creative, and act as stewards of overall brand positioning across the company
• Primary point of contact for communication and collaboration with internal business partners (Programming, Scheduling, PR, Social Media, Digital, Distribution Marketing) to gain alignment on marketing priorities and identify opportunities for synergy
• Manage a team of 5 direct/indirect reports, overseeing the successful development and implementation of On-Air Promo Strategy, Paid Media, Paid Social and Consumer Marketing strategy across all campaigns
• Develop and present marketing materials to internal and external clients, including show talent and producers
• Represent HISTORY marketing in senior team meetings, effectively communicating and championing our campaigns and providing marketing POV on business questions and initiatives
• Consistently evaluate and identify opportunities to enhance process and efficiently manage resources
• Directly manage marketing budget, including allocation of dollars across priorities

YOUR STORY
• BA/BS Degree
• Proven track record of leading a successful marketing team, developing data-supported strategies that produce tangible & measurable results; experience with tune-in objectives preferred
• Deep knowledge of evolving entertainment landscape, including competitive set and non-linear platforms
• Passion for fostering and developing talent
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple personalities within different departments
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills needed and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter, driven to seek out new opportunities and develop ideas without direct oversight
• Adaptability, comfortable with shifting deadlines and direction
• Have strong sense of story and a passion for history
• Detail-oriented and extremely organized
• Must have the ability to work independently, efficiently and be able to meet deadlines under strict time constraints
• Must be able to uphold confidentiality
