The Role:
A+E Networks is seeking a Senior Vice President of Movie Development & Programming to provide creative leadership and support to Lifetime's movie programming team. This individual will oversee all aspects of movie development and production, from concept to delivery, and ensure alignment with the network's brand vision.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
• Oversee development and production processes for original and acquired movies
• Provide leadership and creative direction to the programming process
• Develop a master plan for program development, acquisition, and production
• Represent the network as a senior programming executive to expand the company's visibility
• Build and maintain relationships with the creative community, including producers, writers, directors, and agents
• Supervise budgets and manage multiple concurrent projects
• Act as a catalyst for new ideas and ensure smooth production processes
• Option new material and pursue fresh programming concepts to expand the network's audience base
• Collaborate with marketing, research, and distribution teams to amplify new programs
• Lead cross-functional teams to maintain and develop the Lifetime network brand
• Manage and mentor a team of programming professionals
What You'll Learn:
• Work closely with the Head of Programming on long-range planning and network goals
• Participate in top-level strategic discussions for Lifetime and other A+E brands
• Collaborate with the entire programming group
Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree
• Minimum of 10 years of programming experience, with at least 4 years at a VP level or higher
• Proven track record in developing and producing successful movies or series
• Established relationships with independent producers, directors, writers, and agents
• Experience with major studios, national broadcasts, or cable networks, with advertiser-supported programming experience
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills
• Ability to manage change and motivate teams
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of personalities and creative dispositions
• Ability to make sound judgments and strategic decisions in a competitive marketplace
• High energy, passion for the industry, and a commitment to company goals
Compensation:
• Annual Pay Range: $259,729 - $311,675
• Annual Incentive Target: 35.00%
