Full Time Unpaid Internship
The internship will provide hands-on exposure as part of A E Networks' Los Angeles-based Legal & Business Affairs. Department to all of the legal practice areas that support the company's global multimedia business. The intern will learn about negotiating and drafting agreements, analyzing deal terms and interacting with business clients.
Examples of major responsibilities are as follows:
• Drafting basic contracts (under attorney supervision) involving the commissioning and licensing of television pilots, programs and series.
• Reviewing and summarizing key deal points on contracts.
• Helping to review rights bibles; assisting on other Rights and Clearances projects.
• Assisting with Standards and Practices projects.
Over the course of the internship, students will rotate through the various legal groups, in each case using their analytical, reasoning and writing abilities working under the supervision of experienced attorneys and staff in some of the following areas:
• Affiliate Sales (television distribution)
• Agreements / Programming
• Brand Licensing
• Digital Media / Information Technology
• Intellectual Property
• International Channels / International Syndication
• Litigation
• Music
• Pre-Broadcast Review / 1st Amendment
• Rights & Clearance / Standard & Practices
Qualification Requirements Junior, senior or graduate students who are currently enrolled at an accredited college/university and legally eligible to work in the U.S. may apply. Should an opportunity be extended to you, you will be required to submit verification of your legal right to work in the U.S. at the time of your arrival.
