THE ROLE: Studio Engineer in Charge
The Engineer in Charge of Studio 7E will be responsible for the following duties in support of the video production facilities here at A+E Networks:
Work with production companies, both A+E Networks and external companies, when producing programming in our NY facilities. In preproduction, this role will take on the responsibility as a technical consultant, advising on studio capabilities as well as specifying any needed rental equipment.
Work with production companies and crew during studio productions in A+E Networks' NY production facilities. Responsible for the engineering set up of all technical equipment and routing and patching. EIC must be able to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during production.
EIC will also as part of their duties be responsible for the maintenance and continued up-time for the studio's technical equipment. Identify equipment and advise on studio control facilities upgrades and projects.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Studio Technical Support: Advise and assist on Engineering Set Ups in conjunction with the production company's needs during studio productions. Supporting productions in A+E Networks production facility before, during, and post productions. Troubleshooting and expedient correction of technical issues of Studio 7E's production equipment as they arise during productions are paramount.
Production Equipment Maintenance & Upgrades: To meet Production's & the industry's everchanging needs, we are often upgrading, configuring, and customizing the production systems here at A+E Networks. These range from the smaller asks and fixes to large projects expanding and replacing systems. This will include running or implementing smaller projects to coordinating with production clients and vendors or integrators to successfully ensure needs are met.
Campus and Offsite Production Engineering Support: Supporting A+E Networks' Domestic Media Operations department with corporate productions including ''Town Hall'' type meetings and Add Sales ''Upfront'' events. Both onsite and offsite.
Studio Support Scheduling, Knowledge Sharing: Coordinate the engineering support around onsite productions both in the Production Studio as well as corporate areas to ensure productions go smoothly. Work with management to schedule freelance engineers as well as staff engineering team to ensure productions are covered. Participate or lead knowledge transfer sessions with Engineering Staff as well as freelance engineers and production personnel to create a wide breadth of knowledge and available support.
