Staff Accountant, Financial Reporting and General Ledger (Temp)
THE ROLE: Staff Accountant, Financial Reporting and General Ledger Temp
A+E Networks is looking for a Staff Accountant to support our Financial Reporting and general ledger accounting operations.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Staff Accountant, Consolidation and Financial Reporting:
• Prepare monthly closing journal entries for various accounts on the balance sheet & P&L, including but not limited to accruals, reclasses and true-ups as needed
• Roll forward monthly, quarterly or annual schedules for review
• Prepare all consolidation procedures in SAP BPC environment
• Prepare SAP ledger detail reports for mass distribution
• Perform monthly financial reporting close pre-check procedures and update as new procedures are needed
• Prepare/generate monthly P&Ls for all divisions from SAP BPC software and agree results
• Prepare financial reporting packages for senior management review meetings
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations of key accounts on a monthly basis, including bank reconciliations
• Work with Treasury and other teams to perform general ledger entries regarding cash application, recording of reconciling items (including bit-in/out accounts), wire transactions, etc.
• Prepare month-end distribution reports for the year-to-date actuals to all departments
• Obtain and track balance sheet reconciliations quarterly prepared by other members of the department; ensure all balances are properly reconciled and reviewed and all approved reconciliations are saved in the Controller binder
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts templates for review
• Prepare/generate forecast and budget P&Ls for all divisions for review
• Compile drafts of the annual accounting calendar and supplemental calendar, maintain and update the calendars as needed
• Generate and extract accounting data from SAP to assist manager with ad hoc requests

YOUR STORY:
• BA/BS Degree in Accounting, knowledge in accruals and GAAP accounting
• 1-2 years of experience (internships experience applies) with general understanding of financial reporting and consolidation process
• Familiarity with media/entertainment businesses
• Experience with corporate accounting systems such as SAP or Oracle is desirable.
• Candidate must be comfortable with moderate to advanced MS Excel functionality including pivot tables, sum-ifs, v-lookups, text-to-columns, and other.
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills needed and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have the ability to work independently, efficiently and be able to meet deadlines under strict time constraints.
• Detailed-oriented and extremely organized.
• Strong oral and written communication / interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic & professionalism.
