THE ROLE: Specialist – Collections: International
A+E Networks has an important opportunity as a Specialist – Collections: International in New York providing support to A+E's Finance and Accounting division focusing on International accounts spanning the globe. This provides a unique opportunity to view, manage and influence the full transaction cycle from deal memo to cash collection.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Specialist – Collections: International
• Maintain and cultivate ongoing relationships with assigned international based accounts to ensure successful collection efforts are achieved including preparing account reconciliations, collection of all open account items, identification of slow paying accounts and other related collection tasks.
• Coordinate with other departments including fulfillment, tax, legal and billing departments to manage and address client matters ensuring smooth payment progression and completion.
• Coordinate with the Accounts Receivable and Treasury departments to ensure cash receipts and other adjustments are properly identified and reflected in finance records.
• Application of account payments received into International finance system Filmtrack fka Jaguar taking into consideration various currencies and country specific tax withholding rates.
• Identify and maintain documentation to support the departments' efforts with outside agencies and other matters of client matter escalations toward delinquent and other past due accounts.
• Send out monthly invoices, assist in the preparation of monthly and ad hoc account aging reports, and other schedules as required.

YOUR STORY:
• BA/BS Degree in Accounting or related field
• Fluent (reading/writing) in Spanish
• Foreign collections background in the media industry Entertainment and/or agency experience
• Review and working knowledge of foreign withholding taxes and foreign currency transactions
• Working understanding of account reconciliations and contract review
• Strong problem-solving skills including the ability to work with concurrent computer systems to ensure the information needed to perform assigned job responsibilities can be achieved.
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills needed and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Detailed-oriented, extremely organized with strong follow up skills
• Must have the ability to work independently, efficiently and be able to meet deadlines under strict time constraints.
• Strong oral and written communication skills including Word and intermediate Excel including use of pivot tables and Vlookups.
• Maintain awareness of competitive set and sense of timeliness
• Must be able to handle confidential information
