Job Description
THE ROLE: Producer (Temporary)
The Producer is an experienced television professional with a deep understanding of factual, reality and scripted content; adept at versioning and mastering for linear broadcast and global distribution. In order to be a successful contributor, the Producer needs to be highly organized and agile, proficient at juggling multiple assignments and balancing the competing demands of the creative process and stressors such as late-arriving materials, shifting priorities and ad hoc requests.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Producer is responsible for versioning and preparing content across A+E Networks' diverse and exciting portfolio. You will work with scripted, non-scripted, factual, reality and live programming, and must understand how storytelling and narrative thread apply to each of these distinctive genres in order to preserve the integrity of the program content throughout the versioning and mastering process for our linear broadcast platforms and global distribution. This role also contributes to departmental initiatives as a subject matter expert (SME) when required.
The Producer reports to one of our Supervising Producers based in our Stamford, CT facility. While based in Stamford, this Producer will likely begin her/his tenure with us by working from home as per current Company practice and will likely transition to a hybrid on-site/remote work model at a future date. Candidates must have suitable bandwidth at home to stream video and work successfully on our business platforms.

You welcome and encourage feedback; are able to confidently consider and apply creative input; and provide thoughtful, kind feedback and insights to others in the interest of improving business processes and relationships.
Organizational skills – you understand that organization and preparation are cornerstones of creativity, and proactively prepare your edit sessions to maximize efficiency and enhance the creative process of working with your editor. You're able to multi-task, pivot quickly, and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment while protecting the quality and integrity of your work.
Technical knowledge – you possess a firm understanding of the production/post production process used to create non-fiction program content, and can apply your industry expertise to resolve problems and avoid risk. You are familiar with common video file formats and standards; audio mixing and stem creation; closed captions; and the process of encoding and delivering file-based media assets. You are comfortable with related technology including nonlinear editing platforms such as Avid Media Composer and Premiere Pro; Adobe Creative Suite; and Media Asset Management (MAM) systems. Experience with cloud-based workflows, Video Description, 4K and/or UHD a plus.
More about you
• Seven or more years' professional experience as a producer in a cable or network environment, production company or equivalent/related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Television Production, Communications or equivalent preferred
• Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. AirTable and SmartSheets a plus.
• Able to work evening and/or weekend hours when required.
• Experience with live broadcasts a plus.
• There is the opportunity to work in a ''blended'' environment from either on-premises or remote locations.
Please note project assignment associates are engaged to provide service to A+E Networks on a temporary basis in connection with a specific project. Project assignment associates are hired and employed through a third party vendor with a duration/tenure of no longer than eighteen (18) months
CompensationContract Weekly Pay Rate: $1,875.00
The pay rate displayed serves as a good faith estimate for this role.
