THE ROLE: Post Production Scheduling Supervisor
The Post Production Scheduling Supervisor will be the main point of contact with Editors, Assistant and Junior Editors, Technicians, and other Post Production talent booking for the A+E Networks internal Post Production Operations team. This high-volume facility supports multiple content creation groups with ever-changing creative needs and priorities. This Supervisor will also assist in post-production talent recruitment.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Manage the scheduling of all post facility staff & freelance crew
• Work with Supervising Producer and AP's to discern forthcoming quarterly creative edit crewing needs and changes, and gather all freelancer availability to meet those needs
• Work with Operations to ensure consistent tagging edit crewing as needed
• Work with Admin to ensure accurate and timely hiring, renewing, terming, and/or rehiring of freelance crew; in accordance with HR and Atrium guidelines
• Work with management, HR, and Admin to source and hire new talent as needed, including pre-emptively flagging the need for new freelance hires and maintenance of job descriptions
• Be the primary point of contact for all external scheduling; edit, audio, color, or otherwise
• Liaise with external vendors - at the behest of AP's and producers, and other requestors - to schedule services
• Maintain ongoing dialogues with vendors and Admin to ensure all work is invoiced in an accurate and timely manner
Day to Day needs
• Address day of callouts for all services, updating affected associates and partners as needed
• Address all ongoing time off requests, liaising with affected associates and partners as needed
• Maintain ongoing dialogue with associates and partners to ensure complete and consistent long-term crewing needs, and Admin to fulfill needs supported by freelance crew
• Work with Admin to ensure accurate internal scheduling notation as if pertains to financial and payroll functions
• Work with Operations to continually develop and refine scheduling operations in AirTable and/or other supporting systems as needed
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:
This role will operate within various post service areas' managers, departmental admin, creative and operational associates, payroll and HR partners, and external vendors' scheduling contacts. As such, the person will learn the intricacies of each area and how those areas overlap in regard to crew scheduling and administration. The person may grow further into any or all of these areas as needs arise (and as opportunities best match the skills of the person) and can eventually position themselves as the go-to resource for all post production crewing needs; within ProdOps and any other department requiring post and/or post crewing services
YOUR STORY: [+BEHAVIORS] (what you need to have):
• Must have 4-5 years' experience scheduling a variety of post personnel for a high-volume facility
• Working knowledge of ScheduALL, Xytech, AirTable, and/or other like scheduling systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once, both short and long term, and with varying deadlines
• Must be highly personable and a strong communicator; to obtain and speak to associates' and partners' scheduling needs, and convey schedule info (and resolve discrepancies) to post crew
