Job Description THE ROLE: Media Management Specialist The Media Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring that various media storage and transfer environments are organized and optimized for ingest, post production and mastering. This responsibility begins with ensuring proper import and registration of media assets and project creation in preparation for editing. You'll collaborate with our editorial and tech teams to ensure that industry best practices are used to ingest, transcode and/or standards convert footage to the appropriate format/framerate, and troubleshoot quality issues that may arise through this process. This role reports to the Director, Production Storage Management. MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO: Work with Technical Operations and Strategy Teams on creating workflows and rules for media management, storage, and access. Assist in managing media storage environments to support Adobe Premiere and Avid editing, ensuring that projects and media are organized properly for centralization. Collaborate with clients in an effort to keep media assets at sustainable operating levels Contribute to and maintain departmental best practices for versioning control, naming conventions and storage of files and media assets, and educate clients regarding new and existing procedures from a media management perspective. Support and administer all media assets, metadata, folders, rules, and access across post production storage and systems both on-site and in the cloud. Archive projects and media for future use and ensure that media files are deleted from active storage in a timely manner once editing is complete and project deliverables have been approved. Onboard and provide technical support to long-form Editors and Assistant Editors working on site and remotely. WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: On our team, you'll have the opportunity to innovate and learn. And, you'll collaborate with operational teams throughout our technical facilities as well as departments and stakeholders from across the company. YOUR STORY: You understand and enjoy the operational and logistical aspects of the post production process, and can help implement new technical requirements and workflows. You able to balance multiple projects and can prioritize and manage your workload effectively. When problems arise, you can raise them up in concise, actionable terms that facilitate rapid solutions. Desire to proactively gain technical and institutional knowledge Able to work independently and efficiently, and knowing when to ask for help MORE ABOUT YOU: Minimum 3 years of experience in post production technical support. In-field production experience as an Assistant Editor or Media Manager is a plus. Long form, episodic and offline/online experience is preferred Comprehensive knowledge of Post Production workflows, software and systems including, but not limited to: Adobe Creative Suite, Avid Media Composer, Interplay, Blackbird, Experience in remote workflows and technologies to enable remote post production: HP-RGS, Avid Edit on Demand, Teradici Experience with file transfer and cloud solutions: Aspera, Signiant, Media Silo, Frame.io, FTP Comfortable with encode/transcode solutions including Media Encoder, Teranex, Telestream Vantage and Alchemist for HD and SD media. Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365, Google G-Suite apps, Shift, Mac OSX. Airtable experience a plus. Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $29.34 - $41.83 Annual Incentive Target: 5% The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience.
