Full Time Job
Manage content acquisitions and inventory in the most productive and profitable way possible for Lifetime Networks. You will help in the growth and evolution of Lifetime's brand and acquisitions strategy.
Assist Sr. Director in negotiation of multi-million dollar theatrical movie packages/off-net series/and US TV premieres, developing relationships with key movie studios and independent producers. Assist in the evaluation and need/use of potential acquisitions including reviews synopsis, scripts, trailers and finished products. Help create and develop long term network strategies to ensure continued growth for all networks.
Co-manage an annual acquisition output deal of 15-20 movies by providing feedback and final approval on concepts, scripts, casts and final edits ensuring these titles fit both domestic and international program planning needs
Attend film festival and industry markets such as Tribeca Film Fest, LA Screenings and NATPE to explore acquisition opportunities
Manage program inventory across the networks, track deals, avails and the competitive landscape
Liaise with Scheduling, Legal and Research for acquisitions and deal strategy
Assist in compiling a list of upcoming theatricals, off-nets and library avails to target for acquisition over the next several years. Determine most promising product for Lifetime and LMN.
When a new title is acquired, research all relevant deal points, work with Sr. Director to understand and document the deal. Check contracts to make sure they match the terms negotiated.
Update/maintain/provide various reports that are required by department management. These reports range from inventory management, to deal preparation, to analysis by studio, to the tracking of our deal terms.
Supervise team coordinator in monthly Program Acquisition Commitment (PAC) process in both the creation of the department programming proposal
Manage invoice and payment process for all acquisitions and budget commitments
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree
• 2 years' experience in entertainment programming, ideally program acquisition at a basic cable network
• Flexibility with day to day schedule and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and drive them to completion
• Must be able to communicate effectively and with all levels of staff, a team player.
• Must be highly organized and extremely detail-oriented
• Knowledge of the cable business and landscape
• Love of movies and TV a plus
