THE ROLE: Executive Producer, A&E Programming
A+E Networks has an Executive Producer opportunity in the New York office on the A&E programming team both researching and generating internal series and specials concepts, and overseeing their editorial execution through to air.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Executive Producer, A&E Programming:
• Develop and oversee quality programming for the network that achieves or exceeds rating goals
• Research and identify internal concepts that align with A&E's programming strategy
• Identify and track potential talent for both series and specials
• Research trends and track emerging formats across the competitive landscape
• Ensure that proposals meet Ad Sales, ratings and finance criteria
• Work as a liaison to ensure deal making between network and production company
• Maintain high degree of knowledge of current events and trends
• Identify new resources for idea generation, and sourcing for potential talent
• Serve as the internal and external face of the brand
• Effectively articulate the brand strategy to ensure that programming is on-brand
• Manage external on-air talent
• Work cross-functionally with departments including Business & Legal Affairs, Publicity, Marketing, Social, etc. to see projects through to completion
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN:

YOUR STORY:
• BA/BS Degree
• 5+ years of Production/Programming experience at a major cable network
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills needed and must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Proven track record of generating series and specials concepts for cable and/or streaming outlets
• Detailed-oriented and extremely organized
• Must have the ability to work independently, efficiently and be able to meet deadlines under strict time constraints
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Maintain awareness of competitive set
• Must be able to handle confidential information
• Must be able to negotiate budgets to achieve cost-efficient programming
• Must be well-versed in changes and trends in the industry to keep A&E on top
• Must be able to articulate network strategy to producers
• Previous employment at a production company a strong plus
• Ability to shoot and edit development reels a strong plus
• Casting experience preferable
