EVP, Commercial & Technology Transactions, Legal & Business Affairs (Hybrid & Remote Options Available)
Work Locations: With the exception of some select roles that have in-office requirements, A+E Global Media operates on a flexible model that allows for remote, hybrid or full time in office work (in certain locales).
Office locations include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Stamford, CT.

Job Description
THE ROLE:
This role will oversee the three major areas of commercial transactions (comprised of supporting the Distribution, Total Media Solutions and Global Content Sales divisions) and the adjacent areas supported by the attorney teams that principally support those divisions (including vendor management and privacy). This role will both manage the heads of those teams and do hands-on legal work on transactions on those teams on deals staffed with members of those teams. This role provides an opportunity for a seasoned and experienced manager as well as a skilled transactional attorney.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Negotiate, draft and finalize a variety of agreements relating to content distribution and content licensing with MVPDs, vMVPDs, digital platforms including SVOD, AVOD, EST/DTO/TVOD, Diginet and FAST; technology and services with vendors in finance, HR and other areas; and privacy.
• Work to oversee agreements for and provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders and their teams throughout the company including in the distribution, global content sales, digital and other divisions and including preparation of charts and other materials on contract terms.
• Manage and oversee senior attorneys in various transactional verticals who in turn manage teams of attorneys.
• Oversee advice on compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and contractual compliance (e.g., tracking MFNs, compliance with contractual obligations).
• Maintain relationships with both internal and external clients, as well as counterparts at other networks and with outside counsel to remain current with the latest industry trends and contractual positions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• JD; admission to state Bar (preferably NY)
• At least 10 years of supervisory experience of high-performing teams of attorneys and legal professionals
• At least 20 years of legal experience, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry and a minimum of 10 years at a network or programming service or distributor/platform
• With at least five years experience negotiating and monitoring compliance with Most Favored Nations provisions (either as external or internal counsel or both)
• And at least 5 years of commercial transactional drafting and negotiation experience in media and/or technology, specifically in linear content distribution and digital content distribution – FAST, AVOD, SVOD and DTC
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• Experience in content licensing and technology transactions; solid knowledge of entertainment law; and strong relationships within the industry.
• Excellent writing and verbal skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and coordinate with clients and department colleagues across divisions, with a solution-orientation (able to assist executive internal stakeholders in achieving goals).
• Business affairs and negotiation experience, leading legal and supporting negotiation of key commercial terms teams in revenue-generating transactions.
• The ability to work collaboratively to propose and create processes that increase the team's overall efficiency.
• Strong time management, ability to prioritize for self and others across multiple priorities, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment.
• Detailed-oriented as well as big picture thinker and extremely organized.
• Must have the ability to work independently, efficiently and be able to meet deadlines under strict time constraints.
CompensationAnnual Pay Range: $435,458 - $522,549Annual Incentive Target: 40.00%
The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the
minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will
be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills,
