Division Story Production Operations and Engineering consists of a wide range of media centric roles. We are responsible for managing the entire life cycle of A E's programming. This is where we produce, transform, broadcast and distribute content as well as run the tech infrastructure for the Media Supply chain. Job Description THE ROLE: Director, Production Storage Management The Director, Production Storage Management will oversee various cloud and terrestrial media storage areas used in active production and post production environments. This role is responsible for full oversight of all media storage systems, daily activity of media flow, ensuring validity, best practices, and operational adherence. MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO: Manage and provide leadership to a team of media managers in support of cloud-based post production workflows Manage post production storage systems both on premises and in the cloud, establishing retention policies and assuring spec adherence and avoiding duplication Work with Production Operations management and Engineering to determine the most effective and efficient solutions, technologies and workflows are employed to facilitate the post production processes Establish and maintain cohesive specs, requirements, and efficient and integrated workflows for new and existing cloud-based platforms Design an archival process to ensure that raw media, completed projects and associated media are collected and archived for future use Provide leadership with timely reporting of operational performance and troubleshooting as needed. Balance workload and delegate priorities of the team, with consideration to individual expertise and knowledge. Align with other Managers in the department to assign support as needed Work with various storage user groups to comply with best practices Monitor individual staff performance and give timely feedback as needed. Serve as a point of contact for Engineering staff regarding technical and operational workflows, troubleshooting, and enhancements Collaborate with stakeholders and business partners to proactively plan for the needs of the business and ensure the highest level of service and support. Collaborate with ProdOps management to identify, research, and test new hardware / software solutions necessary for operational enhancements, streamlining, and efficiencies Weekly / monthly Financial reporting: usage reports, allocation forecasting, etc Collaborate with the larger Production Operations team to ensure that workflows align across the wider A E enterprise Recruit, train, performance manage, A E DEI requirements Draft onboarding and training curricula and SOP's for incoming post production team members Work with archive services team to ensure media backup completion. YOUR STORY: [ BEHAVIORS] (what you need to have) Minimum 5 year's experience as a Manager in post production technical support Long form, episodic and offline/online experience Broadcast or cable television network experience is preferred Experience managing a team of technicians is required Comprehensive knowledge of post production workflows and processes Knowledge of Post Production software and systems including, but not limited to: Adobe Creative Suite, Avid Media Composer, Avid Storage, Interplay, Vantage, Blackbird Experience in remote workflows and technologies to enable remote post production: HP-RGS, Avid Edit on Demand, Teradici, other. Experience with file transfer and cloud solutions: Aspera, Signiant, Media Silo, Frame.io, FTP, Lucid Link, Cumulo and similar Experience collaborating and problem-solving with operational and engineering teams to find appropriate future-forward solutions Experience managing stakeholder relationships and support Compensation Annual Pay Range: $103,516 - $150,160 Annual Incentive Target: 17.50% The annual/hourly pay range displayed serves as a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base pay range for this role. Compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience.
