This is a Full Time Job
This position will provide support across all departments within Global Engineering and Broadcast Operations.
The role will be involved in initiatives/projects involving the development of the media supply chain with a focus on the global distribution of our content. This will require leveraging existing and establishing new relationships with our internal business partners as well as external vendors and service suppliers.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Provide administrative support for the domestic satellite and OTT distribution platforms to perform system configuration, updates, and fault resolution.
Function as the primary US-based liaison between the US team and global team members in supporting our international partners.
Function as the secondary liaison between AETN and third-party US Broadcast facilities provider.
Assist with Affiliate contract renewal technical review process, providing expertise to inform deal terms as well as provide first level Affiliate technical support.
Review of new Affiliate technical plant specifications to ensure smooth and secure delivery of content.
Shared oversight of electronic long-form program and commercial delivery.
Provide technical support during live and near live programming into Master Control.
Participate in requirements gathering, workflow design, solutions pitching, integration management and system training.
Analyze current polices and procedures including documentation management, project management and issue resolution to ensure that “continuous improvement” is occurring at an appropriate level.
Support the department’s efforts around diversity and inclusion throughout all areas of responsibility.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
In this role you will gain in-depth technical knowledge and experience across the entire media supply chain.
You will learn the decision-making points in determining if an operation is best served by traditional technology or by virtualized cloud services. These same decision points will also determine if operations are better served with separate domestic and international services vs. a unified global service.
YOUR STORY:
Minimum 5+ years’ progressive experience in broadcast/media Engineering and/or Operations.
Experience working with and influencing colleagues and key stakeholders across all functions and levels of an organization.
Administration level experience in managing broadcast technical systems.
Knowledge of PowerVu and Elemental encoding platforms, Vela Compliance recorder and Telestream Vantage transcoding preferred.
Experience managing and delivering complex technical projects, including significant capital investments.
Must be available to support programming events and support initiatives during non-business hours on occasion.
This position will have a high level of autonomy. Therefore, the individual will need to be a strategic thinker who demonstrates initiative, innovation and the ability to work independently.
The ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and to pivot and change priorities effectively is essential.
Communication skills, both oral and written, must be exemplary. Presentation skills include the ability to inform people with varying levels of technical and operational experience/expertise.
There role will require occasional presence in the Stamford office.
Occasional domestic and international travel might be required.
