THE ROLE: Data Analyst – Rights Solutions
The Data Analyst, Rights Solutions will be primarily responsible for Data Analysis and Maintenance of the Rights technology solutions for A+E Networks. This individual will be responsible for data analysis of In-House and 3rd Party vendor application across the Rights ecosystem. The Data Analyst will work closely with Global Rights, International Sales Finance, Royalties Accounting along with the internal Software Development, Infrastructure & Project Management team(s) to perform data analysis and maintenance of solutions across the Rights ecosystem in terms of data analysis, data validation, data reporting and data accuracy maintenance.
MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Data Analysis
• Responsible for Data Analysis, Data Cleanup, Validation and reporting for In House and 3rd party applications for Rights systems.
• Provide detailed analysis of data based on business requirements, processes and workflows to design and develop business and technology solutions.
• Review details of business use cases built to cover all data requirements in terms of completeness and accuracy
• Work with QA team to develop test schedules, review testing plans and support unit, regression and user acceptance testing for developed business and technology solutions from data perspective
• Ensures business and technical requirements are understood, agreed to and signed off by all stakeholders at appropriate stages in a project from a data perspective
• Identifies areas where technology, development of new systems or enhancements to existing systems and/or integration solutions can lead to increased efficiency and productivity
• Liaising between Vendors, IT customers and Business groups to identify data enhancements and improvements
Application Support
• Work closely with A+E development team in application support of current systems from data perspective. This involves multiple 3rd party vendor systems & in-house applications along with several interfaces
• Work with 3rd party product vendors & Internal teams to identify root cause, provide fixes, short term workarounds on ongoing maintenance & enhancements to data stored and used in Rights applications
• Provide 1st level application support to the Rights business team for queries regarding data. This includes communication with the business user via phone, in-person and e-mail communication.
• Documentation, tracking and resolution of incidents with applications which includes ensuring that incidents reaches closure.
• Ensure that repeat defects, break fixes are minimized & focus on analysis and provide recommendation for avoiding common issues.
• Query source system databases while troubleshooting issues or responding to user data requests.
• Coordinate with business and IT teams in deployment of major and minor application releases.
Project Management
• Regular status reporting, including but not limited to project & support status, to IT leadership and business stakeholders.
• Alerts manager to potential risks and issues of importance.

YOUR STORY: [+BEHAVIORS] (what you need to have)
• Undergraduate Degree
• 6+ years of IT Data Analysis and Media experience
• 6+ years SQL Server experience in terms of writing complex queries for data analysis
• Experience with Rights management system.
• Knowledge of Rights and Royalties business within the Broadcast/Cable industry, understanding of Rights In, Rights Out, Sales finance and basic accounting principles.
• Strong experience in data analysis, management reporting on SQL Server
• Strong Knowledge of SQL
• Strong Microsoft excel or similar tools experience
• Excellent analytical, communication (both verbal and written), facilitation/organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional business and technical teams
• Excellent understanding of project management principles and experience in managing multiple projects.
• Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels
• Highest level of ownership, accountability & integrity
• Being able to question, evaluate and make decision on technology platform
Desired:
• Experience working with AWS, Snowflake, Tableau.
• Experience with Business Intelligence Related Reporting Tools, Visualization, Analytics, Dashboards, KPIs, Scorecards, Modeling and Predictive Analysis through tools and technologies such as Microsoft Business Intelligence and Tableau.
