Job Description
THE ROLE: Associate Producer, Development & Programming A&E
The Associate Producer for A&E serves as a key member of the team working to support both the development and production teams. The Associate Producer will track the status of ongoing projects and deliverables for both development and production, assist executives with all aspects of creative from casting, creating decks, research, and work with freelance production teams on active shows and manage show deliverables for shows aired. The ideal candidate for this position is a highly-organized, highly-motivated and experienced AP who has worked on a wide range on nonfiction projects. They should also be able to communicate effectively with outside producers, give smart creative notes on projects and understand network priorities. We are looking for someone who wants to go above and beyond to make the merely good, great. They will also take on coordinator duties for the senior exec team to assist in scheduling, weekly production meetings, T&E, business travel, etc.
Job DESCRIPTION: Associate Producer, Development & Programming A&E
• Work closely with Executives to manage assigned series and development projects, providing critical editorial feedback throughout the production process. Candidates should be able to note cuts, identify story and structural issues, communicate creative notes effectively, and independently lock cuts when needed.
• Manage and maintain departmental tracking systems and databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information related to project status, production schedules, workloads, and other key operational data.
• Oversee the post-production deliverables process for assigned projects, ensuring all required materials-including scripts, credits, lower thirds, shot sheets, releases, and other network deliverables-are received, organized, and delivered on schedule.
• Track production milestones, contracts, invoices, and payment schedules, partnering with production companies and internal finance teams to ensure timely execution of project deliverables and financial commitments.
• Generate ideas and identify new talent – have your eyes and ears open to news, pop culture, internet trends, interesting worlds, and potential breakout characters…anything that can inspire an unscripted series for A&E
• Conduct research and assist in the creation of pitch materials, presentations, decks, and development documents.
• Create presentations, pitch materials, briefing documents, and other creative assets to support development, production, and executive presentations, as needed.
• Attend weekly production meetings for assigned projects and communicate key updates to executives and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal departments including Marketing, Communications, Production Management, Legal, Business Affairs, Finance, and Scheduling to support assigned projects and departmental initiatives.
• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for production companies and freelance teams, helping to facilitate communication, track deliverables, and resolve project-related issues.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Associate Producer, Development & Programming A&E
• BA/BS Degree with preferably at least 3-4 years experience in television production
• A positive and collaborative attitude
• Experience reviewing cuts, providing creative feedback, and working closely with executives and production partners throughout the editorial process.
• Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; experience with Airtable, AI-powered productivity tools, and other project management or workflow platforms is a plus. Must be technologically savvy, comfortable learning new systems quickly, and able to adapt to evolving internal tools and processes.

• Candidate must have the ability to take direction from more than one individual, work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Must be able to work well in a team environment and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners and suppliers.
• Highly adaptable and comfortable learning new technologies, software platforms, AI tools, and evolving workflows; able to quickly adopt new processes and leverage tools to improve efficiency and collaboration.
• Basic video editing experience is preferred; familiarity with Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar editing platforms is a plus. This role will involve clipping footage and preparing materials for presentations and internal reviews.

Salary/Benefits
$36.15 - $41.58 /hour USD
Compensation for the role will be based on a number of different factors such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience.
