Warrior Poets, a fast-paced production office run by Academy Award-nominated director Morgan Spurlock, is currently seeking a Post Production Supervisor to oversee post production operations across our current slate of television, film, and new media projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced at handling a wide range of logistical, technical, and administrative tasks and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and enjoy the challenges of managing a wide slate of projects with unique workflows, tight schedules, and varied delivery requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES include (but are not limited to):
-Manage post production schedule across all projects, and facilitate the achievement of set milestones.
-Establish Project Workflows using Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, and Adobe Premiere.
-Liaise with networks re: deliverable requirements and specs.
-Liaise with outside vendors such as sound, graphics, captions, etc. to manage budgets, scheduling and rates.
-Hire assistant editors, editors, colorists, and post intern/PA.
-Train and manage assistant editors and post intern/PA.
-Oversee the licensing of third party footage.
-Oversee communication between production and editorial.
-Coordinate with the Head of Production and legal team to track episode-specific legal concerns (such as blurs, fair-use, etc.).
-Maintain blur-lists, legal checklist, and assemble credits lists with the help of the production team.
-Coordinate external deliverables including closed captioning, transcripts, tapes, cue sheets, and audio elements.
-QC all Network Cuts and Final Deliverables.
-Oversee the maintenance of all critical technology.
-Track emerging technologies that could improve work place efficiency and/or the quality of our products.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills - all while still paying close attention to detail.
-Proven leadership abilities when managing large teams.
-Knowledge of documentary TV/film production.
-Knowledge of common post production equipment, software, and workflow best practices.
-Ability to maneuver in Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, and Photoshop. Ability to oversee Mac and PC environments and familiarity with Avid Shared Storage solutions.
-Ability to both work as a member of a team and to carry out assignments independently.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.
-Bachelors degree
This is a full-time position for someone with 6+ years of industry experience, with 2+ years in a post management role. Hours are 10am to 7pm, Monday through Friday.
