Spring 2015 Internship Program at the
Emmy-Winning Daytime Talk Show, The Doctors (CBS)
''The Doctors'' is currently seeking rock star interns to assist for the Spring 2015 semester with a start date of January 5th to early April. We offer several areas of interest and the ability to learn and grow with an established production company.
Looking for three days a week of ALL DAY availability, e.g. 10am-6pm. Interns work primarily in the office in research and on-set & should be available Thurs & Fri from 7am to 4pm, for the best internship experience.
Interns must bring laptop computer at the start of internship and must be enrolled in school & earn school credit, as the internship is UNPAID.
Areas of Specialty:
Wardrobe: Intern will observe Wardrobe Manager backstage on tape days (Thursday and Friday). Must be available Thurs & Fri from 6am to 5pm.
Talent: Intern will observe the Talent Coordinator and Talent Department team backstage at The Doctors on tape days (Thursday and Friday). MUST BE PERSONABLE AND PROFESSIONAL. Must be available Thurs & Fri from 6am to 5pm.
Researcher/PA: Assigned to 1 or more of 12 production teams to observe guest bookings & topic research; including phone interviews, hot topics, book & magazine research. May include calls to potential guests, photos, and other duties depending upon the intern's abilities. Must be available THREE DAYS per week.
Web: Intern will observe web department staff and learn about the use of our website and social media to promote the show. Must be available THREE DAYS per week.
Additional Projects: Interns may also gain experience in the following areas:
Field shoots, Transcription, Tape vault library & Audience booking.
Policies/Requirements
Again, all interns must be enrolled in school & earn school credit, as the internship is UNPAID. Interns will be issued a Paramount ID for parking (at no cost to intern). Students should be available at least three days per week or 24 hours per week, depending on the position. Special availability requirements are noted in the above categories. All interns must be available from January until April 2015 fully.
Most interns are generally Media, Communications, Radio/TV/Film, English, or Business majors, and related fields.
Please be aware that ALL areas of the production adhere to strict confidentiality requirements & interns are required to sign confidentiality & compliance agreements.
Schedule
A schedule will be worked out with each intern that corresponds to their area of specialty as well as their school schedule. The intern should be prepared to meet this schedule every week as the staff will rely on their participation. Arrangements can be made in advance for finals and other schedule issues.
