The Manager, Distribution Technology reports into the Sr. Manager, Distribution Technology at The Walt Disney Studios and is based in Burbank
Responsibilities
• Facilitate the gathering of information and tracking of distribution deals
• Assists with content security reviews for distribution deals
• Identifies key emerging platform and consumption devices
• Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of several projects and technical evaluations on the DistributionTechnology team
• Manage contractors, vendors, engineers and business analysts across multiple projects
• Communicates status to stakeholders and management
• Works with business unit to gather and ensure completion of Technical Questionnaires
• Assists with technical and security reviews of content delivery platforms in Distribution Deals
• Assists in enforcement of Studio Policy on Distribution Deals
• Tracks breaches in identified software and platforms
• Maintain a repository for technologies that have been evaluated and their status
• Maintain a repository describing the security conditions for distribution partners
• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
• Monitors and reports on roadmaps, trends and activities for emerging technology and distribution platform industries
• Identifies internal and external resources needed
• Manages day-to-day operational aspects of Advanced Tech projects
• Identifies and communicates resource constraints and potential priority conflicts to assist the organization in evaluating and reprioritizing deadlines
• Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
Basic Qualifications

• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
• 3 years evaluating new technologies in media distribution or consumer devices
• 2 years experience programming in OO environment (Java, C , etc)
• 2 years experience managing a software development team
• 2 years experience developing consumer facing internet based technologies and projects
• Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals in securing media and rights management systems
• Demonstrated understanding of DRM systems such as Widevine, Verimatrix, WMDRM, PlayReady or Adobe Flash Access
• Demonstrated understanding of Internet based delivery mechanisms for video such as Adobe FMS, Smooth Streaming or Apple HLS
• Proven track record in using external resources for developing software
• Proficient understanding of Web Services
• Proficient understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Proficient in quality assurance testing techniques
Preferred Qualifications
• Working understanding of technologies like DLNA, MoCA
• Working understanding of security protocols like DTCP-IP, HDCP, RTMPe, UPnP, SSL
• Demonstrated understanding of distribution platforms such as Cable, IPTV, Satellite, Mobile and Internet
• Demonstrated understanding of watermarking and fingerprinting technologies
• Demonstrated understanding in the prevention of piracy in media
• Familiar with conditional access systems
Required Education
Bachelor degree required; Technical degree is a plus
PMP or Agile certification a plus
