Senior Android Engineer
The Digital Networks Group at Sony Pictures Television is looking for a Sr. Android Engineer to join the Engineering team in Culver City, CA. The Digital Networks Group provides the platform and services for Crackle and Sony Pictures Television Networks. This position's primary responsibility includes designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining Android Applications for the Crackle platform, which includes its content management system, search/recommendations and notifications engines, web sites, client apps and back-end services. The Senior Android Engineer will report into the Director, Software Engineering.
In addition, this role requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs, establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues in timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop complex, consumer-facing applications for the Android platforms using Android framework and Android Studio with strong Java background.
• Work closely with IT project managers, solutions architects and software developers.
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 5-7 years of Android Development Experience using Android framework and Android Studio.
• Strong understanding of RESTFUL APIs.
• Delivered multiple Android apps to Google Playstore.
• Familiarity with version control systems including Github.
• Familiar with Software Development methodologies including agile.
• Understanding of Databases including SQL Server, MongoDB.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills – good at documenting code.
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, quick learner with very strong technical aptitude and the ability to work concurrently on multiple projects.
