Responsibilities
Sony Music Entertainment is seeking an Engagement Program Specialist to support a variety of initiatives focused on developing, engaging and retaining a diverse workforce. This is a unique opportunity to improve existing programs and build new content and experiences for a dynamic and creative organization.
Primarily, this role will support the end-to-end planning and execution of internship programming in our U.S. offices. In addition, this person will be an internal lead fora suite of global development and engagement systems/tools designed to scale our programs and sustain connection with employees over time. This position is based in our NYC headquarters and will be responsible for:
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT (80%)
You will work closely with our talent acquisition, human resources and learning & development teams on a variety of people programs, primarily our intern programs with ~150 – 200 students per semester:
• Owning project plan and communications for capturing participant requests, posting applications, organizing HR and supervisor activities/meetings through interviewing process, confirming intern selections and coordinating onboarding and orientation activities
• Maintaining accurate records and providing ongoing updates for HR leads on selection progress and participant experience across U.S. offices and businesses
• Maintain and consistently refresh participant experience programming and content
• Leverage learning platforms to maintain calendar of live events, manage registration, push digital content, surveying for experience feedback and tracking participation/engagement metrics
• Managing event planning, setup, execution (i.e., room booking, catering, signage/materials, managing attendance) and overseeing the support from internal teams (i.e., IT, facilities, security, volunteers) and external vendors (i.e., photographers, design & production companies, furniture rentals, etc)
SYSTEM AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT (20%)
• You will be an internal go-to person for a suite of global learning and engagement systems designed to scale our programs and sustain connection with employees:Manage and seamlessly align technology solutions (blend of purchased software and internally developed tools) for use across intern and broader employee engagement/learning activities
• Maintain activity calendar and accurate records for attendance, participant feedback and costs
• Maintain vendor set up, invoicing and payments for programs
Qualifications
THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS ROLE WILL HAVE STRENGTHS IN THE FOLLOWING AREA:
• RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years of supporting events, learning or engagement programs – preferably internship and/or early career programs
• DETAIL ORIENTATION: Relentless about accuracy, quality and design (branding, style aesthetics); Thinking ahead several steps to contingency plan and avoid missing anything
• PROJECT EXECUTION: Can autonomously plan and deliver projects – preferably multiple projects and moving parts and experience with both long term planning and short term action/status updates
• COMMUNICATION & PACKAGING: Can both market activities to broad audience and communicate updates at the appropriate level of detail to involve peers and manage senior leader expectations
• TECHNOLOGY SAAVY: Comfort with productivity software (MS Office, especially PPT & Excel), Learning Management Systems (we use Bridge) and quickly picks up digital technology (online, mobile, social, etc)
• COLLABORATION & EXPECTATION SETTING: Proactively builds relationships and reaches out; Comfortable providing updates at appropriate detail for difference level audiences
• SELF MANAGEMENT: Driven and motivated self-starter who can work both autonomously and collaboratively; Ability to manage both up and down as well as build and maintain strong relationships
• PASSION & CURIOSITY: A habit of self-development through reading, networking and participating in local events with providers and peers; Interest in music and learning about our business and artists
